The Best Care for your Best Friend

Tail Waggin’ Adventures was founded by Renee Piper and Susie Gormsen, two passionate dog lovers who shared a vision of creating a fun, engaging, and safe environment for dogs to enjoy while their owners are away.

Using the iconic royal blue building just north of Terre View Drive on State Highway 27, Tail Waggin’ Adventures opened its doors in May 2017 and quickly became a trusted spot for dogs and their families. What began as a small operation offering daycare, boarding, and limited grooming has grown into a vibrant community built on care, trust, and tail wags.

In 2021, a long-time dream became a reality when we proudly opened our Training Center. From the moment we welcomed our very first clients, our mission has been to create a place where dogs and their people can learn, grow, and thrive together. Over time, that dream has only expanded allowing us to offer boarding, puppy playtime, and board-and-train programs to our community that give every pup even more opportunities for enrichment, growth, and fun.

“Dog training is where my heart feels most at home. Guiding a pup, earning their trust, and watching their confidence bloom is the kind of joy I never get tired of.”

Renee Piper – Owner

Hello! I’m the owner of Tail Waggin’ Adventures and am a professional dog trainer on the Palouse. I have over 25 years of experience with dogs and I understand what comfort animals can do for people. I’m the founder of Palouse Paws, a therapy dog non-profit organization that was created in 2012. In the spring of 2021 I expanded the group to offer service dog training. In 2018, I became the Area Coordinator for HOPE AACR – Animal Assisted Crisis Response, and recruited qualified teams to support our region. I’m also a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions since 2010. I’m currently on my 14th puppy.

I love to educate myself on different training methods, as well as being able to share my knowledge to people with dogs and help them reach their goals. My training philosophy heavily draws on having a collaborative relationship with your dog instead of a one-sided affair. I enjoy helping and talking about the joy and responsibility of owning a dog and the value of the human animal bond.
